A man has been taken to hospital after he drove into a set of traffic lights in Waterford City this afternoon.
The incident happened just after 12 o'clock on Rice Bridge, and the route was closed for a time causing major traffic delays.
Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene, and the man was taken to University Hospital Waterford.
His injuries are understood to be non-life-threatening and the road has since been cleared.

Waterford City and County Council staff are currently working on fully repairing the traffic lights, which are still functioning following the incident.
