A boy was robbed at knife-point in Waterford City over the weekend.
It happened on Saturday at St Carthage's Avenue, close to Barrack Street.
The child had his phone stolen after being threatened by a man with a knife, who then fled the scene.
Speaking on this week's WLR Waterford Garda Watch, Sergeant Deirdre O'Neill says it's important anyone with information comes forward.
"It involved a male who was wearing a grey tracksuit end - he had no t-shirt on, as he was using the shirt to cover his face. He produced a knife and robbed this young child of his mobile phone. We believe that people may have observed this and investigations are ongoing. If you saw anything suspicious or saw a man running from this area - we'd ask that you would contact Unit C at Waterford Garda Station."
