Appeal lodged against 90-home development in Waterford

Planning permission for 90 new homes in Waterford has been appealed to An Bord Pleanála.

The application for the development on the Dunmore Road was initially lodged in March of last year.

On the 8th of February this year, SuirBay Limited, were granted permission by Waterford Council for 90 new homes and a childcare facility on lands at Knockboy.

74 of these homes would be three-bed and four-bed houses.

There would also be three two-storey blocks of 16 mews buildings, which are houses inset with a courtyard-style area.

During the initial application process, five public submissions were received, one of which was from a couple who own zoned land adjoining the site.

It's this couple who have now appealed the council's decision to the planning authority.

The case is due to be decided by An Bord Pleanála by the 10th of July this year.
