Graffiti of an anti-Semitic nature has been removed from the walls of a derelict Waterford hotel, having first appeared on Friday morning last.

A Star of David alongside a swastika symbol appeared on the walls of the Grand Hotel in Tramore, prompting concern among locals.

The markings were etched on multiple walls and Waterford Council's amenities teams were "immediately dispatched" - ultimately removing all traces of the said graffiti.

Gardaí say there is currently no active investigation on the matter.
