Ambulance wait time in Southeast highest of any region

Ambulance wait time in Southeast highest of any region

The average wait time for a life-threatening call out for ambulances in the South East region is 33 minutes.

That's according to figures seen by Waterford Sinn Féin TD David Cullinane.

Speaking on Deise Today, he says the figures represent a year-on-year increase in wait times, with wait times the highest in any region.

He added:" What is more alarming is that it is the highest wait time of any region. Other regions have an average wait time of 25/26 minutes but in the southeast, it is 33 minutes.

"I put this directly to the head of the national ambulance service and I asked was the response time from when a call is made to when an ambulance arrives at a door and the answer is yes.".
