After a chaotic start to the 34th Dáil, deep divisions remain between Government and the Opposition about whether independent TDs who support the new government should be afforded opposition speaking time.
Taoiseach Micheál Martin recently claimed the "public aren't excited" by the issue.
However, 63 percent of voters polled by Ireland Thinks say they side with the Opposition, who are united in their position that the Regional Independents and Danny Healy-Rae should only speak from the Government benches in the Dáil.
The poll also shows that most Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael voters disagree with their own parties doing a deal with Michael Lowry.
Asked "If there was another general election immediately, who would get your number one preference?", 24 percent said Fianna Fáil, 22 percent said Sinn Féin, 20 percent would favour Fine Gael, with 9 percent opted for 'independents and others'.
Following yet another controversy regarding the Office of Public Works - after it emerged it spent almost half a million euros replacing a wall outside the Workplace Relations Commission in Dublin, 90 percent of respondents said they think there should be an investigation into how the OPW spends tax payers' money.
