40 new jobs for Waterford as eir expands

Telecommunications provider eir is expanding its customer care operations in Waterford creating 40 new jobs at its Keane's Road base.

Positions will be rolled out in the coming months, the company says.

In 2019 eir moved its customer care department back in-house, after many years of outsourcing.

In a statement, eir said "the move to in-house operations proved beneficial for eir’s customer care transformation, which has driven the company to expand its footprint further."

The company has had a presence at Keane’s Road in Waterford City for 40 years, starting in the early '80s when it was a telecommunications exchange and a centre for the South East region.

The company is in the process of upgrading the location to accommodate the expansion.
