15 areas around the country are at risk of drought as water supplies come under pressure due to the hot weather.
The Irish Daily Mail reports that areas in Kilkenny (Bennettsbridge, Clogh/Castlecomer), Tipperary (Coalbrook), Cork (Clonakilty, Roberts Cove, Whitechurch, Coppeen), Clare (Carron/Carran), Wexford (Wexford Town, Bunclody), Laois (Swan), Limerick (Cooga Spring, Doon, Croom) and Galway (Inis Oírr) are at risk, as temperatures reached record breaking levels this week.
A number of other supplies are also being monitored by Irish Water at the moment in counties including Waterford, Donegal, Galway, Cork and Limerick.
Nighttime restrictions could be introduced to restore the water levels in reservoirs.
Irish Water say they will be able to cope with the extra demand over the summer months but are asking the public to conserve water where they can.
