St. Patrick’s Day with a three-day festival
Waterford city is gearing up to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with a three-day festival from March 17th to 19th.
As part of that, the parade will return for the first time since 2019, with the theme Waterford, Ireland's Best Place to Live. Led by Grand Marshall Finn Ryan, the parade will take to the streets of Waterford City at 1pm on St Patrick's Day. Lego fan Finn was a huge hit on last year's Late Late Toy Show when he rang the bell to herald the end of his cancer treatment. The parade begins at the Waterford Bus Station and will proceed along the Quay, past the Clock Tower and the Plaza, moving around to the Mall.
There will also be an online streaming of the Parade, so those who cannot attend. WLR’s Geoff Harris will be live at the parade in the brand-new WLR broadcast unit from 12 – 3pm, speaking with local parade goers, playing the best Irish music and much more. The last two years have been extremely challenging for everyone. While COVID hasn’t gone away, we are delighted to see the return of the St. Patricks Day Parade and excited to support coverage of the event on WLRFM.
As we look ahead at the remainder of the year and beyond, our ambition is to continue to help our employees adapt to new models of work, drive further engagement and professional development among our workforce. The organisation is currently at the cusp of many innovative and collaborative projects in the healthcare space and we are thoroughly looking forward to another year of sustainable growth.
