Waterford Businesses asked to get involved in clean-up for Earth Day

Waterford Chamber is asking all businesses locally to get behind a clean-up for Earth Day on Thursday, April 22nd.

The Great Global Clean-up is a worldwide campaign to remove billions of pieces of trash from neighbourhoods, beaches, rivers, lakes, trails, and parks.

Waterford Chamber has registered to take part this year and is asking all businesses to pledge a minimum of 20 minutes to sweep, wash, paint, collect rubbish etc.

According to Gerald Hurley, CEO Waterford Chamber:

The city centre is our shop window and with the tourist season just around the corner, this is the perfect opportunity for businesses to take stock and review their own road frontage. We want everyone out, even if it is for just 20 minutes, to enhance their own premises and encourage their neighbouring businesses to follow suit. We acknowledge that a lot of businesses do this on a regular basis, but maybe there is something you can add on Earth Day, be it a fresh coat of paint, planters or even a new vibrant window display. Let’s work together as a community to showcase Waterford in its very best light.”

Earth Day kicks off Waterford Chamber’s Green Month, which takes place all during May, with a number of events and activities taking place to support the business community in their ‘green’ efforts.

You can register your business here.
