His story, "A station master's story," received the nomination. It was published in March 2021 and told the story of Paddy Joe Maher, the last station master at Durrow Train Station before it closed in 1967.

The paper's Sports Editor, Catherine Power, has been shortlisted in the 'Sports Journalist of the Year' award. It recognises work conducted in the form of match reports, sports profiles, or any other topic of sporting interest.

She has been acknowledged for her coverage of the achievements of Henry de Bromhead at Cheltenham in March 2021 and Aintree 2021.
