Two new ponies have arrived at Áras an Uachtaráin as part of a plan to enhance the biodiversity of the area.
Snowy and her foal will live on the grounds for four months of the year.
The Connemara ponies are owned by Kylemore Abbey.
The move follows recommendations from a recent biodiversity audit, commissioned by the OPW at the request of President Higgins, to develop a conservation management plan for Áras an Uachtaráin.
It found low-intensity grazing by horses and cattle will help create the circumstances for more diverse plant life to take hold.
