This year's Comeragh's Wild Festival has been described as 'phenomenal' after organisers reveal it was the best year on record.
A large number of events across the four-day festival sold out completely, while others attracted more support than usual.
Blues, jazz, and Irish soul singer, Mary Coughlan played live from Crotty's Lake to over 600 people on Friday night. Her concert was a complete sell-out.
During the show, Mary said on stage: “We need more concerts and more small festivals like Comeragh’s Wild. Glastonbury isn’t a patch on this. What a setting.”
The Galway native has a high chance of returning to next year's festival after expressing that she would love to come back.
Broadcaster, biologist, and author, Eanna Ni Lamhna was another big hit over the weekend.
Eanna guided a nature walk and talk along part of the Greenway and into the park at Kilmacthomas. She was joined by local guide Stephen McCarthy.
"It’s great to see the natural beauty and amenities in the area showcased and celebrated through this annual festival. It’s authentic, it's fully immersed in the history, culture, and natural environment of the area and we’re planning to be back again in the not too distant future,” she said.
The festival experimented with new venues and events this year and huge numbers showed up for them.
The Comeragh Mountain Lamb Feast at Cooney’s Yard sold out, the Gateway Eco Camp was full of activity, and a bunch of people joined Mario for the Coumshingaun Walk from Kilclooney Wood, despite the heat.
The Comeraghs Wild Festival ran from July 7th to 10th to celebrate the unique history, culture, tradition, and natural amenities in the Comeragh, Copper Coast, and Nire Valley region.
