Tik Tok, snacks, and soccer are just three of the things primary school children daydream about when they are in the classroom.
A study undertaken by Queen's University, Belfast found that in total, children spend on average 25% of their time daydreaming, instead of listening.
The Daily Mail reports that 100 children aged between 6 and 11 were read a story, and were asked every two minutes if their minds had wandered.
Some of the topics on their minds when asked, included the rain outside, food, Harry Potter, watching television and TikTok.
In one case, a boy who took part in the study found himself in a daze 83% of the time.
Traditionally boys would be associated more with daydreaming, however, the Queen's University study found that the rates between boys and girls were broadly similar.
The findings of the study were published in the Journal of Experimental Child Psychology.
