Waterford Musical Society is bringing My Fair Lady, the much-loved show, to Theatre Royal later this month.

It will run from Tuesday April 26th to Saturday April 30th.

Based on George Bernard Shaw's Pygmalion, the production, set in London, sees pompous phonetics professor Henry Higgins attempting to transform a Cockney working-class flower seller into a high society lady.

His subject, Eliza Doolittle, reluctantly agrees to speech lessons to improve her future job prospects. Higgins and Eliza clash, then form an unlikely bond.

The Waterford Musical Society team includes Director Andrew Holden, Musical Director Wayne Brown, Choreography Ali Reville, Set Design Ben Hennessy, Lighting Paul Browne and Costumes Avril Musgrave.

Among the cast is Susan Boyce as Eliza Doolittle, Rory Walsh as Henry Higgins, Tobie Hickey as Colonel Pickering, and Ray Collins as Alfie Doolittle.
