Moe Dunford is celebrating after winning his third IFTA at a virtual ceremony tonight.
The Dungarvan man won the Lead Actor award for his role in real-time thriller Nightride.
Dunford was a previous winner in this category, taking the accolade in 2015 for his role in Patricks Day. He also won a Best Supporting actor IFTA for TV drama Vikings in 2016.
IFTA's big winners
Other big winners at the 2022 Irish Film and Television Awards were film An Cailín Ciúin, taking home Best Film, Best Director, and Lead Actress for Catherine Clinch.
The Irish language movie also stars Waterford's Carrie Crowley, who was nominated in the Best Supporting Actress category. The award went to Jessie Buckley for The Lost Daughter.
On the television front, Kin was the big winner, taking home Best Drama, Best Script, Lead Actress for Claire Dunne and Lead Actor for Sam Keeley.
About Nightride with Moe Dunford
The premise is that small time dealer Budge (Dunford) tries to pull one last deal with cash borrowed from a dangerous loan shark. When the handover goes catastrophically wrong, Budge finds himself in a race against time to find his missing product and get a new buyer before the loan shark tracks him down.
