The countdown is on to the Waterford Viking Marathon and organisers have revealed a first look at the medal.
The event, now in its 10th year, takes place on Sunday 26th June.
As with previous years, there are quarter, half and full marathon options, taking in scenic areas like the Greenway.
Organisers will also offer a virtual event that weekend (Thurs- Sun), so people can still take part even if they can't be in Waterford.
Following a review of the route at committee level, it's been decided the 2022 Marathon will both start AND finish in the City.
It's hoped that this will add to the excitement for runners and spectators alike.
Des Whelan is Waterford Viking Marathon Chairperson and MD of WLR, the event's media partner. Speaking at the launch he said:
The 2022 Viking Marathon finishes in the city for the first time, and this will add greatly to the excitement and atmosphere for runners and spectators alike. Waterford is not only be the best place to live in Ireland but also a great place to run
