Love Island viewers have taken to Twitter threatening to write to Ofcom and demand that there should be an age limit on the show.
The much-anticipated reality show returned to our TVs with the first episode of the eight-week series airing last night.
In the episode, 19-year-old Gemma Owen was dared to kiss the Islander she fancied the most. She chose Italian bombshell Davide, who is eight years older than her, despite being coupled up with strength and conditioning student Liam.
However, the age gap between the pair was deemed inappropriate by a large number of viewers who took to social media to voice their objections.
if gemma and davide end up together the ofcom complaints are gunna be WILD it’s just so wrong #LoveIsland

Mixed reaction to new format
This is the first year that the contestants didn't choose who they couple up with as the public had decided for them before they entered the new Mallorcan villa.
Gemma was not impressed with this new twist, describing it as " the worst situation" for her.
But Gemma and Davide were not the only two to share a kiss on screen. Amber was dared to deliver her best chat-up line to the girl that she fancied the most. She ended up kissing Tasha, leaving the boys shocked and claiming that they "can't do that!"
Tasha, a model and dancer from North Yorkshire, is the show's first deaf contestant. She spoke openly about wearing a cochlear implant and being born deaf, even describing it as her "superpower."
As the episode was coming to an end, Davide got a text telling him that he has just 24 hours before choosing the girl he wants to couple up with, leaving one of the boys vulnerable.
Ditching fast fashion
Earlier in the year, it was announced that the show will no longer be in partnership with fast fashion brands and that they will be working with e-bay to give contestants access to a pre-loved wardrobe while in the villa.
Host Laua Whitmore followed suit by getting the scissors out and transforming her red trousers into summery shorts with her tailor Mika. The shorts were paired with a matching red waistcoat that has a heart cut-out on the chest.
Love Island is back tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
