Belfast, a poignant film about The Troubles, has picked up seven Golden Globes nominations for the 79th awards which takes place next month.
Kenneth Brannagh's award winning black and white autobiographical film, which is set in his hometown within Belfast, is up for Best Director, Best Picture, Best Screen Play, and Best Original Song.
Jamie Dornan, who plays Pa in the drama about a working class Protestant family, is up for Best Supporting Actor, and Ciarán Hinds, who plays Pop, is nominated in the same category. Caitríona Balfe is nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Ma.
Catríona will go head to head with fellow Irish actress Ruth Negga who's nominated as Best Supporting Actress for her role in Passing, a film about a mixed race friends in Prohibition America.
Meanwhile The Power of the Dog, a Netflix Western starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemons, is the other big frontrunner along with Belfast. It also has seven nods.
The movie tells the story of a domineering rancher who responds with mocking cruelty when his brother brings home a new wife and her son, until the unexpected comes to pass.
It's already picked up numerous awards; including numerous New York Film Critics Circle Awards and a Silver Lion Award for Best Director for Jane Campion.
Other nominated films include satire Don't Look Up; King Richard - the Will Smith biopic about the father of Venus and Serena Williams, the much awaited Steven Spielberg remake of the musical West Side Story and coming-of-age tale Licorice Pizza, all of which received four nominations.
When will we hear how "Belfast" did at The Golden Globes?
The Golden Globes take place on January 9th. It's not yet confirmed what format the ceremony will take following a controversial decision by NBC not to televise the event in Beverly Hills.
