Thousands rushed to the Acoustic Stage of Glastonbury when Gilbert O'Sullivan shared his performance with another Irish performer, much to the audience's delight.
The Déise native, and world-renowned singer-songwriter, shared a very touching performance in Somerset alongside a budding musician during his hour-long session from 8 to 9 p.m. Dubliner CMAT (Ciara Mary-Alice Thompson) undoubtedly made an impression, and when the young performer joined Gilbert on stage for a duet of "Nothing Rhymed," the audience roared.
Ciara also has Waterford blood in her veins, with her grandparents born and reared in Dungarvan. The 27-year-old has been dominating the Irish charts. Her debut album If My Wife New I'd Be Dead was called "undoubtedly one of the most thrilling Irish pop debuts of the century" Hot Press magazine and later won the Choice Music Prize for Irish Album of the Year.
Fans were astounded by how wonderfully the two Irish musicians worked together that evening, and it was very clear from Twitter that both stars genuinely enjoyed playing together.
