With the dark evenings settling in, some much-awaited movies are available to view at local cinemas this week. Undoubtedly the most anticipated is the new James Bond. Daniel Craig is back as 007 for the fifth time, in No Time to Die. It is directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga from a screenplay by Neal Purvis, Robert Wade, Fukunaga, and Phoebe Waller-Bridge.
Originally slated for release in April 2020, the spy thriller has been delayed several times because of the Pandemic. So, excitement will have reached fever pitch by the time No Time to Die hits our screens on September 30th. It's showing at Odeon Waterford, Omniplex Waterford, and in Movies@Dungarvan.
The premise of "No Time to Die"
Bond (Craig) is recruited to rescue a kidnapped scientist. 007 finds himself hot on the trail of a mysterious villain, who's armed with a dangerous new technology. The newest Bond villain is Oscar winning Rami Malek, and Lea Seydoux will be back as Madeleine Swann.

The Many Saints of Newark
This is the origin story of The Sopranos, and has been showing in cinemas here since September 22nd. It tells the story of a young Anthony Soprano growing up during one of Newark's darkest eras. We see Soprano rise up and challenge the all-powerful DiMeo crime family. Central to the story is the uncle he idolises, Dickie Moltisanti. Moltisanti's influence over his nephew will help shape the youngster into the dangerous mob boss, Tony Soprano.
One of the biggest talking points of the movie is the fact that Anthony Soprano is played by Michael Gandolfini. He's the son of the late James, who immortalised the TV character Tony Soprano.
