The Coastguard Cultural Centre and Café on the Doneraile Tramore will celebrate Christmas with Star of the Sea lights from November 25th to the New Year. The Centre, which is usually open daily, will have extended hours over the Christmas season, staying open until 8pm from Thursday to Saturday during this period. The Star of the Sea light display is put together by local company Every Event; the team behind many other major Waterford events and festivals.

What visitors can expect at Tramore Coastguard this Christmas
Upon arrival to the Coastguard Cultural Centre, the festive light display will illuminate the area with garlands and fairy lights leading into the courtyard. From here visitors can experience a traditional Dickens scene with lantern lights, garland and ribbons.
Organisers says one of the big centre pieces will be a Santa’s Postbox with a giant ‘Star of the Sea’ sitting above it, shining out over Tramore bay. Santa’s postbox will be festively decorated and children can follow the tunnel of fairy lights to post the most important letter of the year.
Additionally, there will be a Tramore themed sea scene made of fairy lights and handmade fibre-glass props, featuring sea creatures. The Café and the gift shop hosted by Coastguard Creative Crafters will open each day and evening of the event.
