You voted in your droves and the results are in, Carrie Baxter has come out on top of our Local Hero Search here on WLR!
Over the past number of weeks, over 30 original artists from Waterford submitted tracks for WLR's Local Hero Search, which is all part Irish Music Month.
The initiative has been running across a number of radio stations including WLR, in association with XL Retail Group, the Independent Broadcasters of Ireland the BAI Sound and Vision Fund and music publication Hot Press.
Earlier this month the contest was whittled down to the final five. Voting was done by both our panel of judges and you, the public. Public voting opened on October 15th. Carrie Baxter fought off stiff competition from Toucan, CODYY, Dunluvly and Under Starling to win the Local Hero Search.
She'll now be entered into a national competition as part of Irish Music Month.

She plays a gig in London tonight (Friday October 22nd) and is back on home soil in Theatre Royal this Sunday October 24th, supporting Nealo for the Imagine Arts Festival.
