Waterford City Host Families, an education organisation is currently looking to find local Waterford City families who are interested in earning some extra income and providing short-stay accommodation for students between the ages of 12 – 18 years old.

The education organisation works with students from Spain and France who are planning to travel to Waterford between June and August to learn the English language, experience Irish culture, and enjoy Ireland’s best place to live – Waterford!

Families will host students and provide full accommodation and make the student feel like a part of the family. The students will be attending De La Salle colleges during the day. Host families will provide accommodation, travel to and from the school, breakfast, packed lunches, and dinners.

If public transport to De La Salle is available, families are more than welcome to show students how to use our public transport system. This should only be done once the student is fully comfortable with travelling by themselves and/or with a member of the host family.

Depending on the grouping, the students will go on either midweek or weekend trips. On days when students are not on trips, we hope that host families will bring them to enjoy the many activities and locations across Waterford so they can fully benefit from their time here.

Each host family will receive remuneration based on the number of students they can host and the length of time they can offer their support as a Host family.

Applications to become a host family are open now and will close prior to June 26th so are appreciated as soon as possible.

To find out more and discuss the option of becoming a Host family, please contact Anne at [email protected] or view Waterford City Host Families' Facebook page.
