Carriglea Cairde Services, provide a comprehensive range of day, residential and respite services
to approximately one hundred and ninety adults with mild, through to profound, degrees of
intellectual disability.

Clinical Nurse Manager 1/Social Care Leader (Person In Charge) Carriglea Cairde Services

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons for the above position.
Applicants must lead by example in demonstrating genuine kindness, empathy and patience in their
daily interaction with service users in a person-centred service.
The purpose of the role is to provide a person-centred approach to meet service user requirements.
The Person In Charge role will be initially based in our community settings.
The successful candidate will fulfil the following:
• Person in Charge requirements and responsibilities for the designated centre in line with HIQA
regulations.
• Provide leadership and support to staff in the homes in ensuring safe services and supportive
services.
• Plan and supervise the implementation and review of a quality, person-centred service with
the resident.
• Ensure that the team enables service users to participate in activities that reflect their goals
and choices.
• Ensure that the health and medical needs of service users are met.
• Ensures strict compliance with health and safety standards.
• Ensure that excellent standards of care are maintained at all times and in all aspects of
work.

The Person in Charge will cover approximately one weekend in four.

Nurses must be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland.
Social Care Leaders must have commenced the CORU registration process for Social Care Workers.
Candidates must have the capacity to properly discharge the functions of this role.
Experience of working with people with intellectual disabilities is desirable. Excellent communication and
organizational skills are required. A full clean driving license is essential.

Care Assistants
The successful candidates will provide support and follow relevant programs for adults with an
intellectual disability. This will involve working with the service users, their families and other staff in
developing a person centered plan for each individual. Applicants must demonstrate genuine kindness,
empathy and patience in the daily interaction with service users in a person-centered service. Successful
candidates will be required to support service users in a socially inclusive model.
Applicants will be required to undertake domestic and cleaning duties and tend to the personal needs
of the service users in their care.
Applicants should hold a relevant minimum FETAC/QQI Level 5 Major Award qualification, and experience
of working with people with intellectual disabilities is desirable. Excellent communication and
organizational skills are required.
Candidates must have a full clean, driving license.

Social Care Workers
The successful candidates will be required to support service users and the staff team in the community
inclusion and the promotion of the choice, independence and well-being of the service user in an
individualised setting.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing guidance and support as required and will
hold accountable for excellent standards of support and care as a key requirement of this role.
We are looking for a supportive and enthusiastic Social Care Worker to deliver the highest standard
of person-centred support to the individual who uses our service.
Candidates are required to have a minimum Level 7 qualification in Social Care of must be in the
process of CORU registration for Social Care Workers.
Candidates must have the capacity to properly discharge the functions of this role and have previous
experience working with individuals who utilize services.
Candidates must have a full clean, driving license.
