The Copper Coast of Waterford will host a completely fresh international land art festival coming up next month. From September 15 to 24, "Talamh" is bringing together artists from every corner of the globe to create monumental works of natural art on the hills and coastlines of Dunmore East.
The festival's name, Talamh, is an old Irish word that means land, ground, earth, and soil. The sand, tidal, and earth artists scheduled to participate are experts at producing one-of-a-kind work in natural settings.
Earthworks will be carved out of the land itself, and constructions made of organic materials like boulders or twigs will be incorporated into the landscape.
The festival will feature spectacular land art that will showcase the natural beauty of the Copper Coast and provide visitors with the chance to interact with the artists and get involved in the creative process.
There are also other public events, lectures, and a movie night scheduled.
The event will last for ten days, including two full weekends, and the performers will have a variety of venues to pick from on a daily basis.
Along the Copper Coast's more than 50 kilometres of shoreline, there are numerous breathtaking sandy beaches, and numerous hinterlands will also be used.
