Waterford dog lovers invited to "The Big Paws"

Dogs Trust Ireland has launched plans to offer an inviting atmosphere for other dog lovers to acknowledge the passing of their beloved animals by walking in their memory, as part of a celebration of the special link between dogs and their owners.

On the evening of Saturday, September 30th, dog lovers are welcome to participate in "The Big Paws" and support the charity.

The Waterford community is being encouraged by Dogs Trust to host events or to commemorate the occasion in a special way. Dogs Trust started the "Not Just a Dog" campaign last year with the goal of normalising the conversation about the pain felt when a cherished dog dies.

The charity experienced an outpouring of grief from its supporters as a result, underscoring the significance of a gathering when dog lovers may take a "paws" and consider the irrevocable impact dogs have on their lives.

Dogs Trust is encouraging everyone participating to post pictures of their experience on social media with the hashtag #TheBigPaws to demonstrate how many people in Ireland recognise the significant influence dogs have on so many facets of our lives.
