A living moss mural has been unveiled in the Déise.
Designed and developed during Waterford's Harvest Festival last month, this stunning piece of living art has found a new home on the front wall of the Garter Lane Arts Centre and has been showcased.
The renowned artist Aga Krym created the work of art as part of a collaborative effort between Waterford Harvest Festival and Waterford Sustainable Living Initiative (Waterford Slí). The UN Sustainable Development Goal 2: Zero Hunger serves as the catalyst for the living art setup which demonstrates the intricate relationship between art and ecology.
The artwork was painstakingly created throughout the course of the September 9–10th weekend, allowing festival attendees to take part in the process of creating it. This not only enthralled attendees but also sparked a discussion about sustainable living practices and world hunger. The mural currently serves as an ongoing symbol of the community's dedication to environmental responsibility worldwide, and it is located in the courtyard of the Garter Lane Arts Centre.
