Dungarvan teens in National Swimming Championships

The National Swimming Championships this year will feature two teens from Dungarvan.

Kevin McNally and Bronagh Foran both belong to the Dungarvan Barracudas Swim Club. The youths qualified to advance to the national competitions, that will take place at the NAC starting on Wednesday, 26th July through 30th July, Sunday.

Due to the lack of a public swimming pool in Dungarvan, the people who belong to the club have to travel across the county and beyond to locate a reliable facility to exercise and be ready for the event. The Barracuda Swim Club visits Waterford City to train and use a 25-meter pool. This calls for the swimmers, coaches, households, drivers and assistance groups to put in a lot of effort.

Founded in 2011, the Dungarvan Barracudas Swim Club has improved consistently each and every year. Although they have faced many obstacles, they have fought an incredible struggle to reach the levels they have.
