The 4 day festival which involves so much more than racing, takes place from Thursday August 15th up until Sunday August 18th.

We've teamed up with the fine folks in Tramore Racecourse to give you the chance to win a VIP package for your and your friends on the Friday night of the festival.

Each day this week on The Drive Home, Teresanne will be picking a qualifier and if you get picked out at the end of the week, you'll win an amazing VIP package which includes admission to the races on Friday August 16^th, as well as race cards and a 3 course dinner for you and three friends in The Graun Hill Restaurant with Prosecco!

Day 1 - Thursday August 15th - Festival Launch

Kicking off the festival is a selection of 7 National Hunt Races bound to impress as they race to be named the 2019 winner of the feature Flynn Hotels Handicap Hurdle 123 with an increased prize fund now worth €30,000.

The first of seven races goes to post at 5pm and music by ‘Three for the Road’ after racing, will ensure the party goes on until late.

Day 2 Friday August 16th - BBQ Evening

Day 2 and the August Festival is in full swing and a full day of top class racing is in the offering. Another evening of class racing over a 7-race race card of National Hunt races including the feature Steeplechase worth €20,000.

Waterford Chamber of Commerce are hosting their festival BBQ Race Night complete with a dedicated marquee making it the ideal staff night out for any Waterford based business. Booking is direct with Waterford Chamber for this package however, there are plenty more options available at the racecourse that evening for socialisers too. Music by popular act ‘Sleeze and Cheese’ will kick off in the marquee straight after racing.

This is also the day you could be heading along to The Graun Hill Restaurant for a 3 course meal and Prosecco for you and 2 friends. With the luxury of a private table for you and your party, excellent table service with full bar facilities and TVs throughout, The Graun Hill Suite is the ultimate base for your race day experience. The menus are specially tailored to suit everyone’s taste with its variety of options and excellent quality.

Day 3 - Saturday August 17th - Style Evening

Enjoy an evening of great racing, great atmosphere and great style here at Tramore Racecourse on the Saturday of the fesitval.

A new format has been introduced which will include stylish men in the competition line up as well as an increased prize fund and the option to register for consideration too. The Most Stylish Man will win a €1,000 voucher for T-R-M in Waterford City, House of Waterford Crystal selection worth €400 and a VIP trip for two to The Tower Hotel. Meanwhile, The Most Stylish Lady will win a €1,000 voucher for Redlane Boutique, House of Waterford Crystal selection worth €400, two nights in a Deluxe Riverview suite with breakfast on both mornings, Afternoon Tea on arrival and Dinner on one evening in Hobson's restaurant courtesy of The Tower Hotel Waterford. Celebrity style judges are Aoife Walsh and Brent Pope.

There will also top-class entertainment on the evening from Soul Reason in the festival marquee and Indigo Mood will be in The Lawn Bar.

Sporting a 7-race race card of flat racing and featuring a Handicap race worth €20,000.

Day 4 - Sunday August 18th - Family Fun Afternoon

Offering a huge range of entertainment for the kids all afternoon, it’s the perfect place for a family day out. Including bouncy castles, climbing walls, face paints and much, much more! And if that isn’t enough then you can now enjoy a beautiful Sunday roast with all the family in our Graun Hill Suite. Please pre-book to avoid disappointment.

Now that the kids are entertained it’s your turn to sit back, relax and let us provide you with some top-quality National Hunt Racing from a 7-race race card including the feature Handicap Steeplechase 0-123 race now worth €30,000. Sunday is an afternoon meeting with the first race circa 2pm.

The racing is not the only spectator sport available on Family Day, the All-Ireland Final will be shown live in the GAA Marquee complete with a bar, ample seating and trackside views of the racing…where else would you want to be watching the big game?

Festival patrons will enjoy new and improved facilities including; The Blackwater Distillery Marquee, The Blackwater Distillery Lawn Bar, The Bistro, The Oyster Bar, the newly refurbished Inside Track Bar, The Winner’s Circle and Owners and Trainers Lounge. New food and beverage offerings are also in situ at Tramore Races this season and feedback so far has been superb. Whether you fancy fine dining, a delicious BBQ meal or a tapas style selection for sharing you won’t be disappointed!
