Waterford Rose, Kirsten Mate Maher has been crowned as the 2018 International Rose of Tralee.
Kirsten took to the stage on Monday night among the first 18 contestants of this year's festival. Speaking to Daithí O'Sé about her family, love of sport and music and coining the phrase of the festival, 'just be sound', Kirsten impressed Rose of Tralee audiences all over the globe.
After hearing the news, Kirsten told Daithí she was 'speechless' but that she is 'overwhelmed' with the friends she has made throughout the festival.
