British actor Paddy Considine is to play King Viserys Targaryen in the upcoming Game Of Thrones prequel, which is due for release sometime in 2022.
The 10 part series is set 300 years before the events in Game Of Thrones and will focus on the origins of the Targaryen reign.
The new series, called "House of Dragon" will tell how Viserys Targaryen was chosen by the lords of Westeros to succeed the Old King, Jaehaerys Targaryen, at the Great Council at Harrenhal.
Considine is to take the lead role in the series, playing Viserys Targaryen, the "warm, kind and decent" ancestor of Daenerys Targaryen, played by Emilia Clarke in the original series.
The actor is well known for roles in "Hot Fuzz", "Dead Man's Shoes" and current Netflix hit "The Third Day".
HBO has not yet said when it will air but reports in the US say it is likely to be sometime in 2022.
