An Olympic athlete, a rugby superstar, a prince and princesses and The Drive Home live from the event, all made for a spectacular afternoon at the Waterford Chamber Business Expo, which took place on Thursday last (April 19th) at George Corbett Motors.
Sponsored by BMCI Insurance and Investments, the event saw over 80 exhibitors network and support local business.
Waterford’s Thomas Barr and Jack O’Donoghue also stopped by, as did Mayor of Waterford City & County Cllr Pat Nugent, while WLR’s Teresanne O’Reilly brought all the action from the event live to listeners across Waterford.
Speaking at the event, Waterford Chamber President Paul Nolan said: “What a wonderful event this is, the coming together of businesses. The clear message from this year’s Expo was that businesses are rolling up their sleeves and doing it for themselves, which collectively strengthens their voice in business through the Chamber. There is so much potential for Waterford right now, it’s hard not to be positive. It’s up to each of us to capitalise on and embrace the positive change that is around us.”
George Corbett thanked brand ambassadors Thomas and Jack for taking time out of their busy training schedules to be there and said he was delighted to meet so many new faces and get to know more about their businesses.
Sponsors BMCI Insurance & Investments Ltd were celebrating five years in business at the event and Teresa Jane O’Mahony said they were delighted to be associated with such a positive event for business in Waterford. “This is our fifth birthday and fifth time sponsoring the Expo. From the outset we could see the value in supporting an event which showcases primarily SMEs, who are putting their best foot forward and trying to make a difference and that’s what today is all about.”
