WIT student in isolation after returning from China - Deise Today Monday 27th January

On today's programme Damien gets the latest from Virgin Media Journalist Zara King on a WIT student who recently returned from Wuhan in China and who has agreed to a self-imposed isolation to prevent any possible spread of the Coronavirus. The disease has already killed 80 people in China and has led to a number of cities, including Wuhan, being put on lockdown.

Also on the show Damien speaks to Dr Malie Coyne, clinical psychologist and lecturer, on how to speak to your children about tragedy, following the deaths of three children over the weekend.

Damien also continues his series of interviews with election candidates and is joined in studio by Sinn Fein sitting TD David Cullilnane as well as Labour candidate and current Mayor of Waterford John Pratt.

Finally Damien chats to Lyndsey Power from Inn the Doghouse about puppies abandoned in Waterford over the weekend.

In the second part of the programme, Damien looks back at an interesting weekend of sport with Gavin Whelan. He also speaks to a set of triplets who all scored goals for Waterford at the weekend in their game against Galway.

Dr Stephen Behan, from DCU's school of health and human performance talks about research which shows that 25% of primary school children cannot run properly.

And Pat Edwards from Deise Animal Sanctuary has details of a dog that was thrown from a car in Kilmacthomas.
