Stephanie Hickey is from Touraneena and she joins Damien in studio to talk about her new book "Running From the Shadows". In it she describes how she survived abuse at the hands of a trusted family member and how running, a simple physical activity, helped her achieve mindfulness, but also to rediscover love and faith in her body - to reclaim it.
Also on the show Damien speaks to childcare workers who took part in yesterday's protest in Dublin, including Charmain O Brien from Little Mischief Creche in Piltown.
Seamus McGrath, a former count officer, has details on what to do in the polling booth on Saturday, while Beat News editor Dean Egan looks at the possible outcome in the Carlow/Kilkenny electoral area.
Also on the show on Thursday, Jerry Ahearne, a facilitator with Aware in Waterford, and Brid O Meara, the director of services, talk about the groups recruitment drive. They are looking for people to help out with the service they provide weekly for individuals who experience depression, bipolar disorder or mood-related conditions.
And finally Joe Tobin has details of a fundraising concert in aid of the old St Patrick's Church on Georges Street which is due to be refurbished.
