WLR's four part documentary on The Tops of the Town competition, which ran successfully in the 60’s, 70’s 80’s and 90’s, is now available online.

The competition which started in Waterford in 1962 was for Companies and Community Groups who competed against each other to put on the best hour long variety show. Over the thirty five years that the competition ran, Waterford provided several national winners including the now legendary ACEC and Waterford Crystal shows.

The four part documentary is produced by well know Musical Director and WLR Production Manager Wayne Brown and the series is narrated by well-known play-write Jim Nolan.

Some of the shows featured will include ACEC, Waterford Crystal, Waterford Banks and Finance, Port and Docks, Waterford Foundry and Tramore Community Group.

The programmes include interviews with a host of Tops of The Town stalwarts – and will recall a multitude of memories of Waterford stories, great nights and unforgettable moment.
