1. No plans to introduce mass testing for schools
The Education Minister says there's no plans to introduce mass testing for schools as part of this month's re-opening. Norma Foley is updating the Dáil on the phased return of in-class teaching.
2.UL launch investigation into student street party
The University of Limerick has launched an investigation to identify which students took part in last nights street party in Castletroy. Three people were arrested and gardaí issued over 50 fines for breaches of the health act.
3. Man granted bail over firework attack at Grafton St protest
A protester accused of launching a firework at gardaí during an anti-lockdown demonstration in Dublin on Saturday has been granted bail. Jake Merriman, 30, was charged and appeared at Dublin District Court where Judge Brian O’Shea refused jurisdiction and held that the case should go forward to a higher court.
4. Does Waterford’s Millennium Plaza need some ‘TLC’?
Waterford City Councillor Eddie Mulligan feels the plaza has deteriorated considerably over the past number of years for various reasons such as its waterside location. Since the introduction of public health restrictions, more people are using public spaces such as the plaza which has brought more footfall to the area.

6. Dolly gets a dose of her own medicine
Country legend Dolly Parton has been given a dose of the Moderna vaccine, which she part funded. The 75 year old posted a video to social media of herself breaking into song while being vaccinated, giving her classic "Jolene" a Covid twist. Parton was credited with helping fund the Moderna vaccine after donating $1 million to Vanderbilt University Medical Centre in her native Nashville, Tennessee.
