1. Anger over changes to vaccine roll-out

Public Health officials have said age is the most important factor when it comes to risk from COVID. It's led to a complete overhaul in the vaccination roll-out plan - one that's been criticised by interest groups. Key workers have expressed anger and disappointment following the loss of their prioritisation for Covid-19 vaccination. Meanwhile the 5-day moving average number of cases and incidence rate of Covid-19 have both fallen in Waterford.

2. Shoe shops to re-open for children's shoes

The Taoiseach has confirmed in the Dáil that shoe shops will be allowed to open to sell children’s shoes. Bookings to measure and sell shoes will be appointment only.

3. Calls for recruitment of new Cardiac Team at UHW

Waterford TD Matt Shanahan is calling for the immediate recruitment of a Cardiac Team at UHW. Last week it was announced that work on a second Cath lab for University Hospital Waterford is set to start in May.

4. Over half of Irish motorists plan to buy electric or hybrid as next car

The motoring report from Carzone found that 55 per cent of respondents would purchase an electric or hybrid vehicle as their next car. The research also found that younger drivers (18-24-year olds) are more environmentally conscious with 59 per cent of this group likely to purchase an electric or hybrid car, compared to 50 per cent of motorists over the age of 25.

5. GAA to issue revised fixture roadmap next week

The GAA hope to reveal details of their fixture calendar by the end of next week. They’ve given a cautious greeting to the government announcement that inter-county training can resume on April 19th.

6. Britney Spears reacts to documentary for the first time

Britney Spears says she "cried for two weeks" over the recently-released documentary about her career. Speaking for the first time since Framing Britney Spears premiered in February, the singer took to Instagram to share her thoughts. The documentary examined the way she has been treated by the news media, and the conservatorship that has dominated her life and finances for 13 years.
