1. One hundred thousand homes to enter property tax net from later this year.

The owners of mid-to-high value range residential properties which have seen above average price increases are most likely to face a higher local property tax bill under a revised structure for the tax. The Cabinet has agreed to cut the rate at which the tax is charged and to broaden the bands in a move that will see the bills of more than 50 per cent of households remain the same.

2. Chief Medical Officer defends remarks over weekend socialising

Chief medical officer Dr Tony Holohan has compared the weekend scenes at South William street in Dublin to Jones' road before an All-Ireland. Dr Holohan expressed his shock at the large crowds gathered over the sunny weekend however critics say that officials should have anticipated the crowds.

3. Promotional campaign for Visit Waterford launched as hotels re-open

The new campaign hopes to make Waterford the number one destination for tourists this summer. Hotels are reopening their doors today while outdoor hospitality has its turn next Monday. 4. ‘Missed delivery’ text scam targeting Irish people

Malware that allows criminals to steal personal data including financial information from Android phones is circulating in Ireland, security experts have confirmed. The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) has warned of a spyware software called FluBot that has been targeting Android phone users.

5. Thomas Barr wins in Sweden

The Waterford athlete's preparations for the Olympics continue with a win in the Grand Prix in Gothenburg this afternoon. Barr romped home with a season best of 49.05.

6. 'Dear Gay' documentary looks at impact of letters sent to Gay Byrne

A documentary will air on RTE one this evening focusing on the thousands of letters that were written to Gay Byrne over three decades. The letters have been stored in RTE's archive and the film tells the story of how many of those letters started conversations that started ripples of change across the country.
