1. Gardai ask people not to speculate on social media after deaths in Ballinteer

Gardai from Dundrum in Dublin have asked people not to spread rumours or to speculate on the circumstances surrounding the death of a woman and her two children in Ballinteer in Dublin earlier today. The bodies of a 37-year-old woman and two children, a 6 year old boy and an 11 year old girl, were discovered at a house on Llewellyn Drive in Ballinteer. Gardai say they are looking to speak to a man known to the victims in relation to the unexplained deaths. They released this statement asking people not to speculate about the circumstances.

2. Secondary school teachers could strike if Covid concerns not addressed

ASTI members today voted to take industrial action unless the government addresses several issues related to Covid-19 in schools by 30 October. Meanwhile NPHET believe that fewer than 10 schools have experienced significant transmission of Covid-19.

3. Two teenagers rescued from River Suir

Two young people have been rescued from the River Suir by Waterford City River Rescue in the past hour. According to a representative from the group, two lifeboats were launched after they got into difficulty at the Old Red Iron Bridge in Newrath.

4. 10 more accused of sharing information regarding Ana Kriegel trial

Six men and four women, from the Dublin and Kildare regions, have been accused of sharing names and pictures on Facebook and Twitter of the two boys convicted of the murder of Ana Kriegel. It follows the charging of 25-year-old Rebecca Ryan from Priory Lawn Ballybeg in Waterford last week.
