1. Two weeks to visit family at Christmas - Tanaiste

The Tanaiste says it’s hoped people will be able to visit their family and friends for two weeks around Christmas. A formal announcement on how we exit Level 5 is set to be made on Friday evening.

2. 6,000 sign petition in Carlow school controversy

An online anti-sexism petition accusing Presentation College Carlow of telling female students not to wear tight-fitting clothing because it was distracting for staff has been signed by more than 6,000 people. 3. Waterford Lotto players asked to check tickets after win

The winning Quick Pick ticket, worth €500,000, was bought yesterday at the Maxol/Mace filling station on the Cork Road on the outskirts of Waterford City.

4.Landmark Waterford pub up for sale

Mc Alpin’s Suir Inn opened in Cheekpoint in 1971 and has been run by the same family since then. It’s now on the market with John Rohan Sherry Fitzgerald and has an asking price of 400,000 euro.

5. Diego Maradona dead

One of the greatest footballers of all time Diego Maradona has died of a heart attack just two weeks after being released from hospital. The Argentine legend, who was just 60 years old, won the World Cup with Argentina in 1986. He is famous for scoring against England in that World Cup with a goal that he later dubbed the "Hand of God". There will be a minutes silence at the start of tonight's Champions League matches to commemorate the legend.

6. ‘Walk of Fame’ proposed for Waterford

A ‘walk of fame’ in Waterford to commemorate famous people associated with the county has been proposed by councillors. The idea is similar to the famous Walk of Fame along Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles and would see two name tiles added each year to the walk.
