1. Anger mounting over issues with contact tracing

The principals of some primary schools are spending weekends contact tracing and arranging Covid-19 testing for families after the contact tracing system was overwhelmed by cases last weekend.  It has emerged that thousands of close contacts of positive Covid-19 cases will not be contacted by the HSE, while government officials say they only learned of the issues through the media.

2. History made at UHW with first robotic knee surgery

A team of medics from Waterford were today involved in carrying out the first robotic knee replacement in Ireland for public patients. Consultant Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon Fiachra Rowan spoke to Damien Tiernan on Deise Today this morning.

3. Waterford Panto cancelled for first time in 35 years

For the first time in 35 years there will be no Christmas Panto in Waterford this year, due to Covid-19 restrictions. Waterford Panto Society Musical Director Wayne Brown told Damien Tiernan that they were devastated to have to make the call.

4. Waterford's Football clash with Antrim in doubt

It is understood that approximately six players have said that they do not want to play this weekend’s Allianz Football League meeting with Antrim– citing covid concerns. - Meanwhile it was confirmed today that golf clubs will have to close under Level 5 restrictions.
