1. Incidence of Covid-19 in Waterford falls to lowest level since December

The 14-day incidence per 100,000 people is now 97.3. It peaked at 2,058 cases per 100,000 people on the 16th of January, it has fallen by 95 per cent since then.

2. Review advises against inquiry into illegal adoptions

A government review into illegal adoptions has advised against a full scale inquiry into the issue. The review said it was unlikely concrete proof that illegal adoptions took place would be found. Children's minister Roderic O’Gorman this afternoon acknowledged “significant concerns” remain.

3. Waterford TD questions make up of TUSE board

Waterford TD Matt Shanahan says he has concerns about the make-up of the board for the Technological University of the South East. The governing body will be decided upon by the Higher Education Minister Simon Harris, and a decision on the University HQ will be made by this group.

4. Plans advance for multi-million euro revamp of Mount Congreve

Waterford Council is seeking a design team for a €3.4 million revamp of Mount Congreve house. The brief is for the restoration and conversion of the ground floor of the John Roberts-designed 1760s mansion.

5. Waterford FC establish womens U17 team

A Women's Under 17 National League team has been formed in Waterford. The Waterford FC side will be managed by Brendan White.

6. Three Irish nominations for BAFTA awards

Irish actors Barry Keoghan and Niamh Algar, who both starred in the Irish movie Calm with Horses, have both been nominated for a BAFTA award. Kilkenny based animation studio, The Cartoon Saloon has also received a nomination for their feature length film The Wolfwalkers.
