1. Indoor dining postponed until July 19th
The re-opening of indoor dining has been delayed until at least the 19th of July. It will then open to fully vaccinated people or those who’ve recovered from Covid – with a system for managing it being worked out over the coming weeks. The number of people at weddings will increase from 25 to 50 on July 5th – and the number of fans at outdoor sporting events will increase from 200 to 500.
2. Communions and Confirmations off the cards says Tánaiste
Communions and Confirmations that were due to take place from the 5th of July will not go ahead. That’s according to the Tánaiste Leo Varadkar who was questioned on whether the sacraments would be permitted to take place at today’s government briefing.
3. Dungarvan pop-up test centre extended
A walk-in Covid-19 test centre in Dungarvan will remain open until Friday (July 2nd) following an outbreak in the west of the county. The South East HSE say they’re continuing to work to control the outbreak in the West Waterford area, which is understood to be in the region of 120 cases over the past week.
4. A number of people hospitalised following collision on Tramore road
A number of people were taken to hospital within the last hour following a serious Road Traffic Collision in Tramore. The main Orchardstown to Tramore road remains closed as emergency services deal with the incident and motorists are being advised to avoid the area.
5. England face Germany in Wembley in Euros clash
The second half is just getting underway in Wembley as England face Germany in the last 16 of the Euros. Both keepers have been forced to make a number of saves but at the break the sides are tied at nil all.
Elizabeth Banks latest celeb to move to Ireland
Hunger Games actress Elizabeth Banks is the latest Hollywood star to relocate to Ireland. The 47 year old said in an Instagram post that she has moved her entire family to Ireland as she films her new movie "Cocaine Bear". She is married to her college sweetheart Max Handelman and they have two sons.
