1. Rescue operation off Dunmore East
The Waterford based Coast Guard helicopter, Dunmore East RNLI as well as lifeboats from Kilmore Quay and Rosslare attended the scene of a rescue operation off Dunmore East earlier today. A cargo ship lost power 2 miles from Hook head.
2. Government agrees to allow 25 at funerals after outcry
Under the proposed Level 5 restrictions the number of people at funerals was due to drop to 10, with weddings staying at 25. On Deise Today earlier today Damien spoke to some very upset people including a listener Tara and undertaker Jim Falconer. He also spoke to Mary Butler TD who raised the issue in the Dail and it was decided to amend the numbers.
3. Gardai allowed issue fines for house parties
Cabinet has agreed to give gardaí new powers that will allow them to issue fines to the occupier of a house where a house party or gathering is taking place. It's in an attempt to implement the Level 5 restrictions announced last night. Meanwhile 13 new deaths and 1,269 new confirmed cases of Covid-19 have been announced today.
4. Grand Hotel saga rumbles on
A case in front of Waterford District Court today was postponed once again. The hotel, which has lain vacant for the past six years, has been at the centre of legal proceedings after the owners were served a derelict sites notice by Waterford Council in 2018.
5. Jeff Bridges confirms Cancer diagnosis
Hollywood actor Jeff Bridges, best known for movies such as The Big Lebowski and Ironman, has confirmed that he has been diagnosed with Lymphoma. The actor referred to his most famous movie when announcing it on Twitter earlier today.

I have been diagnosed with Lymphoma. Although it is a serious disease, I feel fortunate that I have a great team of doctors and the prognosis is good.

6. Dungarvan actor Moe Dunford talks IFTAs and lockdown
Dungarvan actor Moe Dunford watched the IFTA awards from his couch over the weekend as his movie Black 47 won movie of the year for 2019, an award that was presented by Martin Scorcese. He told Ollie and Mary on The big Breakfast Blaa whats next for him.
