1. First community vaccinations in Waterford but anger over lack of a centre in the West

Waterford great-grandmother Margaret Power has become one of the first people over the age of 85 in Ireland to receive the Covid vaccine in the community. Mrs Power was one of many people to receive the jab at the Keogh Practice’s dedicated Covid-19 vaccination centre this morning. Meanwhile West Waterford based councillor John Pratt has said it’s an “absolute disgrace” there is no mass vaccination centre outside of Waterford city.

2. Cabinet to discuss March phased reopening of schools

A phased reopening of schools is planned from March 1st. Minister for Education Norma Foley discussed options with Cabinet members this afternoon, with students with additional needs and Leaving Certs expected to be the first to make a return to the classroom.

3. Council investigating large scale dumping in Dungarvan.

The local authority has published a series of photos on Twitter which shows piles of black bags left on an alleyway. A trolley, washing machine, furniture and children’s toys can be seen among the rubbish.

4. Tramore company secures major investment

NearForm, the Tramore-based software company behind the HSE’s Covid contact tracing app, has secured a multi-million euro investment. The company plans to take on at least 40 people before the end of 2021.

5. France head coach Fabien Galthie tests positive for Covid-19

France’s entire Guinness Six Nations squad are self-isolating after it was confirmed that head coach Fabien Galthie tested positive for Covid. Earlier today a member of the backroom staff tested positive for coronavirus. Although all of Les Bleus’ players returned negatives from Monday’s round of testing completed at their Marcoussis base, the one confirmed case has forced them to begin quarantining alongside all management.

6. Waterford's Gilbert O Sullivan duets with Gary Barlow online
