1. Nphet strongly opposed to parts of Government’s lockdown exit plan
The National Public Health Emergency Team (Nphet) has signalled strong opposition to some parts of the Government’s plan to exit the country’s current lockdown. The Irish Times reports that the position taken by the Government’s public health experts over an exit from Level 5 is considerably tougher than the approach favoured by Government.
2. Homesavers reopen pending full planning hearing
Homesavers stores in Dungarvan and Waterford reopened this morning following the lifting of an interim planning injunction at the High Court yesterday. The stores were closed last Friday after Waterford Council took a case over claims the stores were operating without proper planning permission.
3. Case for expanding Waterford Garda Station made in the Seanad
Fine Gael’s John Cummins told the Seanad that there has been a 29% increase in Garda numbers in Waterford between 2011 and September 2020.
4. Special summit to address issues in Carrickphierish area
Waterford Council is to host a summit to address issues affecting the Carrickphierish/Gracedieu area. The meeting will be held in the public library within the next fortnight and will involve stakeholders such as residents, developers and public representatives.
5. Status yellow fog warning issued for Waterford
Drivers in Waterford are being warned that there’s a risk of dense fog tonight and tomorrow morning. Met Éireann has issued a status yellow fog warning for Waterford, Tipperary, Cork and Limerick.

Tomorrow night presenter Ryan Tubridy will prune his whiskers, brush that tail and lead the charge as the enigmatic Fantastic Mr Fox in a spectacular opening number featuring favourites from the world of Dahl.
