1. Coombe hospital latest under investigation for vaccine usage

It has emerged that a consultant at The Coombe hospital in Dublin took home leftover vaccines to administer them to 2 family members. Meanwhile rapid testing could be deployed in all schools by this September and 20,000 rapid tests are to be carried out at meat processing plants per week.

2. Sister of Tramore woman pleads for her killer never to be released

Frank McCann murdered his wife Esther, along with their 17 month old foster daughter Jessica, when he deliberately set fire to their home in 1992. Speaking on Déise Today, Esther's sister Marian Leonard said she doesn’t believe McCann will ever be rehabilitated.

3. Dublin football manager suspended as Gardai investigate Covid breaches

Dublin football manager Dessie Farrell has been suspended for 12 weeks with immediate effect as Gardai investigate allegations that the Dublin football players were involved in breaking Covid restrictions. Photos in today's Irish Independent show a number of the high profile players involved in an early morning training session in Dublin.

4. People being ‘discriminated against’ by being ‘barred’ from Mass - Bishop

The Bishop of Waterford and Lismore has claimed people’s spiritual and mental wellbeing is being eroded from being unable to attend Mass. Alphonsus Cullinan said “their patience is wearing thin. They are frustrated and feel unrepresented and discriminated against”.

5. Employees have right to disconnect from work from today

Tánaiste Leo Varadkar has signed a new code of practice, which could lead to cases in the Workplace Relations Commission if it’s broken. People now have a right to not have to work outside of normal hours — and colleagues shouldn’t routinely contact them at that time.

6. New series of Reeling in The Years

We all love a good trip down memory lane and no show does it quite as well as RTE's Reeling in The Years. The station has now announced that a new season, covering the years 2010-2019 is on the way.
