1. Too early to book flights for Christmas - Tanaiste
Tánaiste Leo Varadkar has advised people to hold off on booking flights home for Christmas. Speaking in the Dáil, Mr Varadkar said it was “too soon” for people to start booking flights to Ireland.
2.Waterford house party breaches Covid regulations
Gardaí are investigating a Covid breach after more than 50 people were caught at a house party in Waterford City. The incident happened when Gardaí were on mobile patrol in the Templars Hall area at around 12.30am last night.
3. Waterford FC launch complaint over last Monday nights Finn Harps game
Waterford FC’s dream of playing European Football next year died in Finn Park last Monday night as they were beaten 1-0 by Finn Harps. Since then the club have lodged a formal complaint with the FAI over the game as announced on Twitter earlier today. Its believed the dispute is over Finn Harps fielding a player awaiting a disciplinary hearing.
Waterford FC can confirm that a complaint has been registered with the FAI regarding our Monday night fixture away to Finn Harps. The matter is with our legal team and no further statement will be made on the matter at this time.

4. ‘Guardian of the Deise’ vision for north quays
Fenor based wood sculptor John Hayes tells Damien Tiernan on Deise Today about his vision for the North quays, including a world-class 100-metre high ‘Guardian of the Deise’ sculpture sitting high on the hill near the former Ard Ri Hotel looking down over the city and county.
5. Drive Thru Santa goes on sale in Waterford
Waterford is one of the first places outside of Dublin to present a Drive thru Santa experience, all in aid of the St Vincent De Paul. 6. Waterford woman stars in Supervalu Christmas Ad
It may be starting earlier than usual this year but from now on we will be seeing a slew of Christmas ads from big companies such as John Lewis and M&S. However an ad from Irish supermarket chain Supervlu was released yesterday and already has people talking..... and crying. Starring Waterford woman Ciara Bailey the ad tells the story of a young boy getting ready for a very special Christmas visitor. Watch the ad here.
