1. Three rural Waterford communities are set to receive €50,000 in government funding

Three rural Waterford communities are set to receive €50,000 in government funding.

There was good news for 3 Waterford communities today following the announcement of funding. Under the 2020 CLÁR scheme, Knockanore, Clashmore and Kilrossanty will receive funding towards the provision of safety measures such as traffic calming, public lighting and footpaths in their communities.

2. Charity says people trying to leave emergency accommodation in Waterford are locked out of private rented market

Following a study, The Simon Community have said that private rented accommodation is beyond reach for people in receipt of the housing assistance payment in Waterford City. Of the 34 homes available in Waterford City Centre at the time, none were available within the HAP limits.

3. The draw for the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship qualifiers took place this morning

All Ireland champions Tipperary have received a bye into the second round along with Wexford. Dublin will play Cork in the first round and Clare go up against Laois.

4. Waterford Garda pleads guilty to assaulting woman during arrest

Today, Garda Keith Ryan of Waterford Garda Station pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman, while arresting her, in the city two years ago.
